Some say that Dalmatians are lazy people. I use to say that they are just resting of all hard work that had to be done in the past in order to survive. This picture is proof of that hard work. The whole island is full of heaps of stone piled up through the centuries by hard working hands which picked out the stones from the barren clearings in order to wrest the thin layers of soil from the karst and plant in it the vine and olive.
