Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan located on Honshu Island at 3,776.24 m.
An active stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707–08, Mount Fuji lies about 100 kilometres south-west of Tokyo, and can be seen from there on a clear day.
Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone, which is snow-capped several months a year, is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers.
It is one of Japan's "Three Holy Mountains" along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku.
UMBRELLA CLOUD or CAP CLOUD on top of MOUNT FUJI, Japan
Its one of nature's rare scene!
This is a type of lenticular cloud that is formed only under really rare conditions.
It seems that they can form on top of very tall mountains where the difference of temperatures between the top and the base is very high. The temperature difference creates a continuous and symmetrical (in all directions) air flow that facilitates the formation of the cloud with an elliptical form.
